Preparing Manuscript for SPIE Journal using Lyx

These are the steps to create a manuscript using LyX, that is suitable for submission to SPIE journals:

• Use “REVTex 4” document class
• Custom options: “superbib, prb, nobibnotes,times”
• Bibliography: Natbib, numerical
• In the BibTeX setting, use “spiejou” as style
• When citing a reference, use “#ID” if want to have a superscript
• If a regular number is desired (e.g. “In Ref. 23, he…”), use ERT instead. “\citenum{paperkey}” will produce the required number.
